TWENDE Project

TWENDE Project

This is a GCF funded climate change adaptation project titled ‘TWENDE: Towards Ending Drought Emergencies: Ecosystem Based Adaptation in Kenya’s Arid and Semi-Arid Rangelands’. The project has funding amounting to USD 35.5 Million and is implemented in partnership with WRA, Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Cooperatives (State Department of Livestock) and IUCN. WRA will benefit a total of USD 1,539,118.46 as well as some equipment. The implementation of this project will run for 5 years from November 2020 until November 2025. Implementation is underway in eleven (11) ASAL Counties namely; Garissa, Tana River, Isiolo, Marsabit, Samburu, Kajiado, Kitui, Makueni, Tharaka-Nithi, Meru and Taita –Taveta.
