WRA hosted WWF-Kenya for an event marking the handover of ICT equipment under the Catchment to Tap (C2T) project. The ceremony took place at the WRA Boardroom, where WWF-Kenya donated 32 desktop computers. These computers would be used to enhance the capacity of WRA, particularly the ICT department, to manage water resource data more efficiently and effectively.
The C2T project, funded by the Dutch Embassy and implemented by WWF-Kenya was set to revolutionize water resource management in Kenya over the next five years. The project aimed to bolster an integrated approach to water resource management, focusing on enhancing water and sanitation while promoting climate resilience and inclusivity in the sector. The key objectives included strengthening water resources management for improved sanitation and hygiene, creating awareness and advocacy for effective water management, and equipping communities, particularly WRUAs, to actively participate in water resource management initiatives.
The project addressed the misconception that water comes only from taps, highlighting that it actually comes from careful management of catchments.
